The pipe immediately enters the coating booth where electrostatic guns spray the FBE powders onto the externally heated surfaces. Use of electrostatics controls coating thickness within specified customer requirements, increases the flow capabilities of FBE powders and greatly reduces over spray. Since FBE powders are thermosetting, a dwell time is necessary prior to the water quenching and cooling of the hot coating. |
