Port of Baton Rouge - The deep water and shallow draft Port of Greater Baton Rouge is located at the convergence of the Mississippi River and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and provides ready access to the ocean trade lanes to and from Latin America and the rest of the world. The port includes 3,000 linear feet of continuous deep water berthing space, an unlimited turning basin and easy on-off truck access. A 45-foot channel for deep water navigation is maintained from the port to the Gulf by the U.S. Corps of Engineers. A close working relationship between Stupp Corporation and the Port of Greater Baton Rouge means pipe can be delivered cost effectively and damage free anywhere in the world. Working hand-in-hand, stevedores, longshoremen, port personnel and Bayou have added padded hooks and spreader bars with specialized nylon straps to the port's array of modern equipment for the damage-free handling of pipe. Specialized training has developed the most efficient ways possible to increase production and maximize cost effectiveness.
